  • Men's Conference

The Main Event: “Act Like Men”
    LifeWay’s Conference for Men
    August 10-11, 2018 (Friday-Saturday)
Long Hollow Baptist Church | Hendersonville, TN

Inspirational! Encouraging! Exciting! Powerful! This year's men’s conference promises to be all of these things and more. There will be several thousand men from all around the country who will converge at the conference. You don’t want to miss being a part of this tremendous gathering of men who will come together to worship, pray, learn and be challenged. Come and discover that there is an army of men out there who are facing some of the same trials and challenges and yet, above all, desire to live for Christ.

“Act Like Men” is the theme of the conference. It is taken from James MacDonald’s book of the same title that is making a national impact on the lives of men. He, along with a line up of world-class communicators and musicians, will lead the conference for the purpose of equipping men. The issues men face on a daily basis will be addressed, such as fatherhood, marriage, work, temptation, discipleship, growing in Christ, friendships and much more.

All men are invited to come with us to this special event. We will gather here at SV and leave by 2:00 pm on Friday, August 10th, to caravan to Long Hollow Baptist Church in Hendersonville, TN, near Nashville. The conference on Friday night is 6:30-10:00 pm CST. The conference on Saturday, August 11th, is 8:00 am-12:00 pm CST. We plan to arrive back at SV around 3:30 pm on Saturday. We have hotel reservations at La Quinta Inn and Suites in Nashville.

Register early! The cost is $130 per person which includes a hotel room with double beds (two men per room) and conference fee. Friday, June 22nd is the registration deadline. We have reservations for a limited number of hotel rooms which means you need to register early to ensure a room. After the registration deadline, requests can be made for room partners.

The hotel provides a breakfast Saturday morning but you will need extra money to cover gas and other meals. Once you register you will receive updates on meals and travel details. You can register online or by visiting the Registration Kiosk after the Worship Services.

  • Daddy-Daughter Date Night

On Friday, March 23rd, from 7:00-9:00 pm we invite you to our Daddy-Daughter Date Night. We had a tremendous attendance last year and we hope there will be more dads and daughters to join us this year.

The theme for the evening is “Western Roundup.” There is no particular dress required but cowboy/cowgirl boots, jeans, cowboy/cowgirl hats and western clothes are encouraged. This will make for some great pictures.

Here are a few reasons for you to bring your daughter(s) to this event:

    • The first thing is that it is a unique event. Where else can you get together in a safe setting with a bunch of other like-minded people and have a fabulous time that is specifically geared toward dad’s and their daughters?
    • The second thing is that memories will be built. It will be one of the highlights that your daughter(s) will always talk about experiencing with you.
    • The third thing is that everyone will have a really fun time. Games, craft stations, activities, photo opportunities, delicious desserts and more will fill the night.

    Registration

The cost is $15 per family, which means the price is the same no matter how many daughters you bring. The deadline to register is March 21st so we can make the needed preparations for the evening.

If dad is not available, the mom can choose an adult male family member or friend to be the daughter’s escort.

Step 1 – The first step is to register by the deadline March 21st. You can register at the registration kiosk after services on March 4, 11 or 18. You can also register online.

Step 2 – The next step is one in which we encourage you to take your daughter(s) to eat at a restaurant of your choice and then to come to the church at 7:00 pm for dessert and the night’s activities.

  • Men's Pancake Prayer Breakfast

Come and start 2018 off right and join us at Men's Prayer on Thursday, January 25th at 6:00 am in the Atrium. There will also be free delicious pancakes. It would be worth making a special arrangement in your schedule to come and be with us. See you there.
